BHK Architects is an architectural firm based in Saarland, established in 2004.

 

Ralf Heinrich, Simon Kosiol, and their team approach each unique project with significant dedication through continuous and close dialogue with the client. All planning revolves around the residents and the specific location of the buildings. For BHK, creating good architecture is never just about budget but rather the outcome of “location & client.”

 

  

  

// Design

Throughout the planning phase, the client emphasized the importance of the colour and design of the facade. Ultima RT 153, with its exclusive format and extensive range of sand-colored shades, became the natural choice for BHK Architects. The facade exudes a natural and subtle aesthetic, a representation of how a brick can be envisioned to achieve an elegant and timeless modern structure.

The use of ULTIMA RT 153 emphasizes simplicity and timelessness. With its linear, narrow and long format, the brick contributes to the overall aesthetic by creating interesting interplays of shadows when exposed to grazing light. Integrating the brick material into both the outdoor and indoor kitchen spaces gave the building seamless transitions between the interior and exterior, but also adding a sense of continuity and harmony to the design. This thoughtful incorporation of materials enhanced the overall aesthetic and functionality of the building. 

 

 

// The material

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly vital concern for BHK architects. How can houses be planned and manufactured in a more environmentally conscious manner? How can buildings maintain high quality over an extended period? Bricks produced within Randers Tegl’s green product line, GREENER, offer a significant advantage. These bricks are manufactured using energy from wind power and biogas, resulting in a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions without compromising technical properties.

 

ULTIMA // A work of art

 

The Ultima format is the most exclusive series of bricks we´ve ever produced. The series contains unique water-struck bricks with many details and exiting interplay of colours. All the bricks in the series have undergone an extensive production process in order to achieve their final expression. Their unique surface structure produces a striking, dynamic facade, rich in variation.
